On Tuesday 5th of April, many subscribers were in a bad state as they shared their thoughts about being barred from making or receiving calls through their lines which has been obviously barred from doing so.
Telecoms on Tuesday barred some phone lines that were also already linked to National Identity Numbers, as the government-ordered sanctions targeting those yet to connect their lines to NINs resulting to some of their subscribers getting barred.
Users both online and offline shared their frustration offline and online about how they realized they could not make calls as their lines have obviously been barred despite connecting their phone lines to their NINs. Some who had not connected continued to make calls.
The government said the move will help boost security but critics say, getting lines of citizens barred ism not a solution, but the lack of political will may hinder authorities from utilizing the measure to go after terrorists, kidnappers and bandits.
