The ongoing #EndSARS protest which is on its sixth day has recorded a number of deaths and unrest in the nation…
Goodluck Jonathan, former President of the Federal republic of Nigeria, took to his twitter account to express his grief at this occurrence on Tuesday.
“No Nigerian blood needs to be spilled or life lost during a protest that seeks to advance our country”, he said.
His words are coming on the heels of the ongoing nationwide #EndSARS protests.
These protests see youths clamoring for the government to put an end to police brutality, killing of youths in the country and a total reform of the Nigerian police force.
No Nigerian blood needs to be spilled or life lost during a peaceful protest that seeks to advance our country. We may hold different views on national issues, but there is no doubt that most people desire the same thing for Nigeria:

…a place where we can all live out the full potential of our God-given abilities. I implore everyone to exercise restraint as we walk through these challenging times.

The Inspector General of police, Mohammed Adamu, in a move to take positive step towards the reform ordered all the men of the recently disbanded SARS unit to report to force headquarters in Abuja for debriefing, psychological and medical examination.
While there is no mention of a time-frame for this activity, the IGP, stated that these officers are expected to undergo training and reorientation before they can be redeployed to other units.
