Following the unfortunate 1-1 draw which saw the super eagles loss their spot at the Qatar world cup to their west African counterparts Ghana, the entire coaching crew of the super eagles has been disbanded.
The former super eagles technical director Austin Eguavoen led coaching crew are yet to be replaced as the country shakes off the defeat and look forward to the Nations Cup qualifications later this year.
On everyone’s lip is Sunday Oliseh whom is looking like the favourite to land the Super Eagles job, if what is circulating on social media and speculations by media pundits is to be gone by.
The past coaching crew led by the super eagles technical director Austin Eguavoen was sacked by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) immediately after the failed attempt to qualify the Super Eagles to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
The next challenge for the Super Eagles is their preparations for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations,, the sport’s minister Sunday Dare recently had a meeting with the Federation, and the meeting was centred on who will lead the team when the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers resume in June.
Although, the NFF are keen on having a foreign coach for the team no official statement has been made regarding if we will be opting for a foreign or loca coach in this pursuit of redemption.
