Bashir Ahmad, Personal Assistant to the President on New Media, disclosed that Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), will, on Friday afternoon, play host to the released schoolboys of Government Science Secondary School, Kankara, Katsina State.
“President @MBuhari will receive the rescued students of the Government Science Secondary School, Kankara later this afternoon in Katsina,” Ahmad tweeted on Friday.
Earlier, Governor Aminu Masari had received the 344 abducted schoolboys at the Katsina State Government House after they were transported from Zamfara State where they were taken by their captors.

Gunmen had invaded the school premises last Friday and abducted over 300 students after a gun duel with the police.
The abduction took place some hours after the President arrived in Daura, Katsina for a week-long private visit.
Buhari had come under fire for not visiting the school or meeting with the parents of the students over the attack.
The Kankara students’ abduction is not the first in the history of the nation. Non-state actors had in the past abducted hundreds of secondary school girls from Chibok, in Borno State; and Dapchi in Yobe State. Some of them eventually regained freedom while a number of them were detained in the enclaves of their abductors and sexual abusers
