The Kwara state police command has announced that it has nabbed 144 suspected hoodlums who looted government and private property in the state.
This was made known by the state commissioner of police, Kayode Egbetokun on Monday while briefing journalists at the police headquarters in Ilorin.

The incident took place after hoodlums hijacked #EndSARS protests and proceeded to loot warehouses in cargo terminal area and Agro mall in the state and cart away food items.
According to Egbetokun, all the suspects were arrested with looted items in their possession. He also added that the command will continue to comb all parts of the state to ensure that all those who looted public and private property are apprehended and the stolen items will be recovered.

The commissioner also said that the police is working in collaboration with other security agencies to ensure that no culprit escapes. He, therefore advised those in possession of stolen items to willingly surrender them to the police.
“Whoever returns those items willingly, will be pardoned,” he said.
Egbetokun also called on members of the public to assist the police by volunteering prompt and useful information, adding that the police will ensure that informants are adequately protected.
