Abdullahi Ganduje, the governor of Kano State Governor, has ordered the reinstatement of his Special Adviser on Media, Salihu Yakasai.
This occurred on Wednesday night, two weeks after Yakasai was suspended on October 11, 2020 after he lampooned President Buhari over his failure to address Nigerians amid national outrage and protests against the SARS unit of the Nigeria Police.

Yakasai had aired his opinion on Twitter via his handle, @dawisu, saying the President’s inaction showed a lack of empathy for Nigerians.
Consequently, the Kano State Government had released a statement describing the media aide’s Yakasai’s comments as “unguarded utterances” and suspended him “with immediate effect”.

However, in a turn of events, the state government on Wednesday, wrote on Twitter via their handle @KanostateNg, “H.E Governor Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje OFR has approved the reinstatement of his Special Adviser on Media, Salihu Tanko Yakasai from his suspension.”
