Football Twitter gave Manchester United striker, Cristiano Ronaldo unwanted gifts on his 37th birthday after missing a penalty in an FA Cup defeat against Middlesbrough.
Mockery and derision were rained down on the Portuguese as Twitter users trended #Penaldo and #Ronaldo on Friday night.
Man Utd fans were left in shock as Championship side, Middlesbrough progressed to the 5th Round of the FA Cup after 8-7 penalties win at Old Trafford.
The match had ended 1-1 after 120 minutes, and needed the shootout to determine the winner. Both teams managed to convert all their spot kicks and the affair was locked at 8-7 with Anthony Elanga playing the decisive kick.

Unluckily for the Swedish teenager, he blasted his spot kick over the bar to seal Middlesbrough’s passage to the fifth round.
Man Utd had opened the scoring through Jadon Sancho in the first half. However, The Boro clawed their way back into the game in the second half as Matt Crooks controversial goal dragged the game into extra time.
Cristiano Ronaldo should have put Man United in front very early in the game but he surprisingly missed a spot-kick.
This means that Man Utd, who lost last season’s Europa League final to Villareal on penalties, have only won one out of their last eight penalty shoot-outs.
