President Mohammadu Buhari is currently at the National Assembly where he is set to present the N13 trillion 2021 budget.
This year’s budget presentation is quite different from previous years as only the President, his vice president, and a few ministers are present while the remaining members are expected to join the event virtually.
This arrangement according to the Senate president, Ahmed Lawan, is to ensure they adhere to strict COVID-19 guidelines.
At the event, the President is expected to give a detailed analysis on the 2020 budget before proceeding to the current one.
The lawmakers are bestowed upon the power to pass the 2021-2023 Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) and Fiscal Strategy Paper (FSP).
