The Pharaoh of Egypt has defeated the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon by three goals to one on penalties and through to the Africa Cup of Nations final.
The semi-final match in Yaounde ended on a goalless draw at full time and went to penalties after extra time. Earlier in the game, Michael Ngadeu and Samuel Oum Gouet both missed goals for the host nation at the Olembe Stadium, while Egypt skipper Mohamed Salah was denied by Andre Onana after finding himself through with just the goalkeeper to beat.

With heated tension and anxiety from the game, Egypt’s coach, Carlos Queiroz was shown a red card as the match went into stoppage time.
Aboubakar took the first penalty for Cameroon and found the net, while Egypt’s Zizo also put his team on level score. Moukoudi and Siliki missed the second and third spot kicks for Cameroon, while Abdelmonem and Lasheen’s goals gave Egypt a comfortable lead.

The last safe by Egypt’s goalkeeper, Mohamed Abou Gabal to deny Cameroon’s Clinton Njie led the Pharaohs to the finals to possibly earn their record eight-time African champion title.
Mohammmed Salah will face his Liverpool team mate, Sadio Mane of Senegal at the AFCON finals on Sunday, 6th February 2022.
