Nollywood has lost another veteran actor, Romanus Amuta, famous as ‘Natty’ in the popular sitcom, ‘New Masquerade’
The actor died at age 79 after a prolong battle with an ailment. He died on Wednesday, 9th of February 2022.

The news was confirmed by his first son, Chukwuma Amuta, saying “Yes, my father died this morning in Lagos after a protracted illness”.
Romanus had featured in the popular Nigeria Television sitcom, The New Masquerade that aired in the 80s till the mid-90s. He also acted in other movies such as Lion Finger, Eagles Bride and Ijele.

The actor hailed from Ukana in the Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State and his survived by wife, Cordelia, and six children.
